On Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow, police detained at least eight people who staged one-off pickets. This was announced on Saturday, November 6, by the human rights project “OVD-Info” with reference to the information of the detainees.
According to OVD-Info, participants in the single pickets demanded the release of political prisoners and protested against online voting. After being detained, they were taken to the Tverskoy and Meshchansky police stations. They were visited by lawyers from OVD-Info.
Starting from March 2020, Moscow has been banning mass events, including single pickets, introduced in connection with the spread of COVID-19. As the police explained, a single picket is equated with a public event, since journalists and passers-by gather next to its participant.
