On March 25, the final of the national selection of the “International Low Vision Song Contest” was held at the Audiosensory Library of Lithuania, Vilnius, in which the vocal ensemble “Puriena” of the LASS Prienė branch, led by Onutė Matusevičiūtė, participated.
Seven performers and ensembles competing for the right to perform on May 12. to represent Lithuania in the international Eurovision contest, presented selected songs, the performance of which was evaluated by teacher Eglė Juozapaitienė, piano teacher Alma Dumbravienė and music teacher Jūratė Vizbaraitė.
The ensemble “Puriena” had prepared the song “Ugnelė” for the competition. The committee and the audience evaluated the performances of the participants and voted until the final. All video clips or audio recordings were uploaded to the YouTube platform at the end of February, where you could view them and vote once for the most liked piece. Almost 700 votes were cast until the final of the national selection. After summing up the performance and voting results, the first three places were announced in the finals of the national selection.
Gražvydas Sidiniauskas with the song “Watch me now” was announced as the winner of the selection of the national competition “International Low Vision Song Contest”, and he will participate in the final of the competition.
And the representatives of the “Puriena” ensemble were happy to have the opportunity to perform at the Eurovision audition for the blind and partially sighted, to chat and view the exhibition of A. Petrauskaitė’s Baltic – Nagel sculptures in the library. This kind of exhibition, which you can touch with your hands and not be afraid of damage, is a rare phenomenon not only in Lithuania, but also in the world.
The members of the ensemble “Puriena” thank all their fans who voted for the song chosen by the ensemble in advance, as well as concertmasters Beata Andriuskevičienei and Algiis Marcinkevičius for their help in participating in the event.
