Partner was sued for millions but reached a compromise: open the Viva channel

Settlement agreement: company Partner will compensate its customers with benefits in the amount of approximately NIS 5.5 million due to a malfunction in the Partner TV service. The agreement was submitted to the District Court in Tel Aviv, which still needs to approve the settlement. The agreement comes after a class action lawsuit was filed against a partner in 2021 due to an extensive malfunction experienced by the company’s customers.

Compensation worth NIS 5.5 million

The court advised the parties to reach a compromise on the matter and they did go to mediation. As part of the mediation conducted by retired judge Gilad Inbar, Partner TV subscribers will receive compensation worth NIS 3 million within 90 days which will be added to the already paid compensation worth NIS 2.5 million. Partner has also committed that the company’s procedures will be refined and customers will receive reports during malfunctions in order to increase the efficiency of the company’s service.

The compensation: opening sports channels and telenovelas

So what will the compensation look like? The summary states that the company’s subscribers will receive the package of sports channels “Sport 5 Premium” which is worth NIS 49 per month for free for a period of at least 16 days. The customers who are already subscribed to the sports package will be able to receive another benefit in the form of opening the telenovela channel “Viva Premium” worth NIS 29.8 per month for at least 27 days.
