INTIME SPORTS

PAS Giannina won the derby at Zosimades against Iraklis, prevailing 2-1 with Vasilis Mantzis scoring two goals and Tsirigotis equalizing temporarily. Iraklis hit the woodwork twice and issued a statement at halftime (also) regarding the officiating.

PAS Giannina took the big match of the second round by beating Iraklis 2-1 at Zosimades, thus making it two out of two in Group A of Super League 2, while Iraklis remained at one.

The team from Epirus took the lead in the 16th minute. Soria executed a corner from the left and Mantzis beautifully volleyed from the second post to send the ball into the net.

The visitors equalized just before the end of the first half with Tsirigotis, after a pass from Kynigopoulos, with Bakadimas getting a header on the ball but unable to change its direction.

Iraklis came close to turning the match around in the second half with Kynigopoulos; however, his powerful shot hit the crossbar of Athanasiou. Seconds after the crossbar, Mantzis found himself one-on-one but sent the ball just inches wide.

What Mantzis failed to do in the 50th minute, he achieved in the 65th. This time he scored with a header following a corner taken by Loupas.

Iraklis pressed for the equalizer and there were hard tackles and protests between the two sides. In the 78th minute, Bertoglio sent the ball to the intersection of the posts with a direct free-kick. It should be noted that Iraklis issued a statement at halftime (also) regarding the officiating of the match at Zosimades.
