The Armenian authorities once again embarrassed themselves, political scientist Gagik Hambaryan wrote on Facebook.

“The other day between the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the document called the protocol aimed at the development of “South Caucasian Railway” was signed, about which the relevant profile ministries of Armenia and Russia distributed press releases, which accepted the results of independent audits of the company’s activities.

The entire course of operation of the concession agreement signed in 2008 was checked. The full fulfillment of its investment obligations by SCR and the absence of claims by the parties were also confirmed. In other words, Nikol backtracks and actually admits that he slandered South Caucasian Railways, which he once accused of embezzling $60 million.

In Moscow, they sat for a long time and watched how Nikol, imagining himself to be very powerful, organizes mask shows and collects dividends at the expense of the Russian Federation, only to be slapped in the face later.

At the end of April 2020, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, commenting on the Armenian-Russian relations, openly expressed his displeasure with the attitude of Nikol’s government towards the Russian companies operating in the territory of Armenia, saying in particular: “In the economic field, the Russian side expects that the legal proceedings that have started in recent years against joint enterprises, including the South Caucasian Railway, will be settled without trying to bring things into the middle that are not suitable for the relations between the allies.”

It turns out that the “South Caucasian Railway” slap delivered to Nikol from Russia arrived. Nikol understood Lavrov’s messages very well and now admits that he once spread false and false information about that company.

It is sad that Nikol, who represents a powerful and sovereign person to his own society, as a result of his next short-sighted and illogical step, not only embarrassed our ally, that he is a basic liar, but also weakened the position of Armenia in this way…

P.S. In order to keep power at all costs and atone for his own mistakes, Nikol is ready to take more pro-Russian steps than Ter-Petrosyan, Kocharyan and Sargsyan,” wrote Gagik Hambaryan.
