On Wednesday 6 March the international cycling race reserved for professional runners “Tirreno – Adriatico” will pass through the territory of the Municipality of Siena, as part of the third stage from Volterra to Gualdo Tadino. The prefecture of Siena, through an ordinance, has provided the temporary closure of vehicular traffic on the roads affected by the competition on both lanes, for the time necessary for the entire caravan to pass, including competitors and accompanying vehicles. The duration of the closure at each point of the route, in consideration of the request formulated by the event organizer, must take place starting from thirty minutes before the race passes to the fastest average and until the “End of Cycling Race” passes.
Implementing the provisions of the Prefecture, the Municipal Police has therefore decided to implement some temporary changes to the road system for Wednesday 6 March. From 8 to 12 no parking with forced removalfor all categories of vehicles, on both sides of the carriageways, e from 10.30 to 12 no transit in the following roads: Sr 2 Cassia Nord (in the stretch between the Sp 119 Uopini and the Castellina in Chianti road); Fontebecci roundabout; via Fiorentina (in the stretch between the Fontebecci roundabout and viale Achille Sclavo); viale Achille Sclavo; Ferrovie dello Stato underpass in piazzale Carlo Rosselli; viale Giuseppe Mazzini; viale Lippo Memmi (in the section of intersection with via Domenico Beccafumi); via Domenico Beccafumi; via Baldassarre Peruzzi; via Aretina; Sr 73 Levante (in the stretch between Via Aretina and Strada del Ruffolo); Ruffolo road; Ropole road; Via Principale (all or in the stretch between Strada delle Ropole and Via di Sant’Isidoro, in reference to the decisions of the organization of the event); via di Sant’Isidoro (only after the decision of the technical table of the organization of the event; portion of the bridge over the Arbia river (for the section under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Siena). Temporary interruptions of traffic will be implemented on all roads relating to the identified route from the passage of the race and for all vehicles entering and exiting accesses and driveways on the roads involved.
From 10am to 12pm on Wednesday 6 March 2024 parking ban with forced removal in via di Vallerozzi (on the right edge of the road, in reference to the one-way traffic allowed, in the stretch between the intersection with via dell’Abbadia and street number 22) and in piazza Fabio Bargagli Petrucci (involving the motorcycle stalls and mopeds – in the stretch between the intersection with via di Vallerozzi and house number 2). From 10am to 12pm on Wednesday 6 March 2024 one-way traffic, heading from via Giuseppe Garibaldi towards via di Vallerozzi, via della Stufa Secca and piazza Fabio Bargagli Petrucci. Parked vehicles, when the road is closed, are allowed to exit only and exclusively towards Via di Vallerozzi.
