The passenger’s body remained in the business class seat until the plane landed in Confins
A woman traveling from the United States to Minas Gerais died during the flight this Monday (6). The identity and age of the passenger were not revealed.
The case occurred on an aircraft belonging to the airline Azul that left the city of Fort Lauderdale, in the state of Florida, bound for Confins airport, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte (MG).
Flight AD8733 departed at 9:07 pm on Monday (6) and arrived in Confins at 7:05 am this Tuesday (7). The passenger was in business class and died within the first hour of the flight. The woman’s body remained in the seat where she was until arriving at the Brazilian airport. The death was confirmed by a doctor who was on board, Azul reported.
After landing in Confins, police officers entered the plane and prevented other passengers from disembarking for around 40 minutes to carry out forensic examinations.
The Federal Police informed the newspaper O Tempo that a team on duty was called to go to the location and doctors at the airport also confirmed the death, which was initially due to natural causes. The body was later released.
The Civil Police informed UOL that, upon becoming aware of the case, they requested the presence of a car transporting bodies at Confins airport to remove the body, which was taken to the Instituto Médico-Legal Dr. André Roquette, in capital of Minas Gerais, where he undergoes exams.
