A 45-year-old pastor was arrested on Monday night after taking a 23-year-old woman to a motel in the city of Valadares Governor (MG). He stated that he would perform a “spiritual healing” on her, who was accompanied by a baby in arms.
According to the incident report, the woman would be from the same church where the man is a pastor of the congregation. Once, during a moment of prayer, the suspect allegedly had a vision that the victim had cancer. However, he could heal her.

Also according to the incident report, the woman explained that the religious leader scheduled the “cure” procedure for Monday morning. When picking up the young woman, the two went towards a neighborhood in the city and, as the victim testified, without knowing for sure the destination.
They would have entered an unknown location and went to a room, when the young woman claimed to have realized that it was a motel.
At the scene, the pastor would have told the young woman that the procedure would be as follows: she should apply oil and wash herself with anointed soap to achieve healing. Before carrying out the procedure, the religious leader stated that he needed to take a shower.
The victim who had a baby on her lap got scared and fled the room. The woman called her husband to pick her up and looked for a police station to register the situation.
Version of the pastor who took the woman to the motel
In his version, the pastor claimed that the young woman looked for him about 30 days ago on a social network asking him for basic food baskets. After the first contact, the young woman started to attend the church where he is a pastor.

The man confirmed the version that he had a vision, in which it was revealed that the woman had cancer and that he had a way to cure her.

To the police, the pastor explained how the procedure would be with the young woman: he would pass an anointed oil on her head, then she would take a bath with a consecrated soap. He said that he decided to take a shower to clean himself and that, when he left the bathroom, he did not find the young woman in the room anymore.
The man was charged with sexual violation through fraud and taken to the police station. He was then taken to the Governador Valadares prison.
