Pasuruan Customs Takes Action Against 1.5 Million Illegal Cigarettes in Trucks on Pandaan-Malang Toll Road

jpnn.comPASURUAN – Pasuruan Customs took action against a truck carrying 1,560,000 illegal cigarettes on Saturday (31/8).

The action was carried out on the Pandaan-Malang toll road, Sumbersuko, Purwosari District, Pasuruan Regency.

All of these illegal cigarettes were loaded onto a truck which is suspected to have come from Malang and was destined for West Java (Jabar).

Head of the Pasuruan Customs Office, Hatta Wardhana, explained the chronology of the action which began with information from the public regarding the shipment of excise goods (BKC HT) allegedly illegal through his area.

Furthermore, in the field analysis and location mapping, Customs found a truck type vehicle suspected of transporting the illegal goods.

“During the inspection, we found and took action against 1,560,000 illegal cigarettes without excise stamps,” said Hatta Wardhana in his official statement, Thursday (5/9).

He revealed that the state’s losses from illegal cigarettes were estimated at IDR 1,493,263,200.

Hatta Wardhana further said that his party would immediately take the suspect, the goods resulting from the action, and the means of transportation to the Pasuruan Customs Office for further investigation.
