Pathan will provide police protection for the exhibition; Gujarat government has assured the theater owners

by time news

Shahrukh Khan starrer Pathan is releasing on January 25. As fans wait to see Shah Rukh on the big screen after four years, there is no shortage of controversies surrounding the film. Some Hindu organizations including VHP and Bajrang Dal had made a statement that they would block the screening of the film in Gujarat.

The Multiplex Association of Gujarat has written to Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel and Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi regarding security arrangements in cinema halls before the film’s release. Now the Gujarat government has promised police protection to the theaters where the movie is being screened.

‘Vandan Shah, Secretary of Gujarat Theater Owners’ Association, informed about this. “It was a great meeting with the officials. Cinema halls have been offered police protection if necessary to facilitate Pathan’s January 25 release. The Hon’ble Home Minister of Gujarat has sent a letter to all the police stations and state commissioners asking them to provide protection to cinema halls during the week of the release of Pathan,’ said Vandan Shah.

After the release of the first song of the film, radical Hindutva organizations came forward demanding a boycott of Pathan. Their argument was that the song insulted the color saffron. Deepika wearing a saffron bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from Pathan also angered them. They say that the film will not be allowed to be screened in Gujarat.
