Patna: Bihar take 150-run first innings lead against Kerala in Ranji Trophy. Bihar 377 against Kerala’s 227 at the Moeen-ul-Haq Stadium, Patna. Shakibul Ghani scored 150 runs to lead Bihar to the best score. Bipin Saurabh (60) and Piyush Kumar Singh (51) also performed well. Shreyas Gopal and Akhin Sattar took three wickets each for Kerala. In reply Kerala started the second innings and scored 62 runs for the loss of two wickets.
Kerala lost the wickets of interim captain Rohan Kunnummal (37) and Anand Krishnan (12). Sachin Baby (6) and Akshan Chandran (2) are at the crease. Bihar reached the crease on the third day at 270 for five. Bihar lost the remaining wickets by 107 runs. Vipul Krishna (14) is the first to return today. By the time 163 runs were reached on the scoreboard, Jalaj Saxena also returned but Shreyas, who fought single-handedly, reached the century. Although he lost the eighth wicket in 164 runs and the ninth wicket in 176 runs, Shreyas reached his century by keeping Akhin at one end in the last wicket.
