K. Peletidis: We showed why it is and will continue to be “the Carnival of Greece”!
This year’s closing ceremony of the Patrinos Carnival 2024 was sealed by the spectacular fireworks and the burning of the Carnival, which perfectly underlined the rebirth and the coming of the new from the ashes of the old.
The Carnival was set on fire in a spectacular way in the sea and combined with the stormy throwing of the fireworks for a long time, the magnificent spectacle became a greeting for the everywhere carnival-goers and at the same time a renewal of the date for the year.
The Heaven on Mars band took over the entertainment with a unique show full of music and dance that excited the audience and took them on a journey to the beautiful and magical decade of the 80’s with well-known pop-rock pieces that left an era.
The Queen of the Patrinos Carnival, Georgia Sakka, showed off her great dancing talent in some of their songs. The party continued until the early hours with the distinguished DJs Michalis Tsausopoulos and Costas Zikos stirring up the crowd with their musical selections.
The Closing Ceremony was presented by Dimitris Moulinos and the 2024 Patronus Carnival Celebrant Maria Agouridis, while for the first time the ceremony was “accessible” for the deaf/hard of hearing, since there was parallel interpretation in Greek sign language, by the official interpreter Lambrini Papaprokopiou.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Patreon emphasized:

The journey of the Patrinos Carnival 2024 has come to an end.
It was a big carnival trip, which marked the last months. It passed through the center and neighborhoods of our city, where it stopped at the Carnival towns, the fantastic Carnival of the Little Ones last week and culminated this last three days, with participation that surpassed any previous.
Your power is endless. The power of the Fatherland Carnival!
We gave a taste of what Patrinos Carnival means, we showed why it is and will continue to be “the Carnival of Greece”!
We sincerely thank all the artists who participated in our events, the workers who gave and are giving their souls, so that the biggest Carnival of the country can come to an end and that our city is delivered clean every morning. All those who put in their little stone, to make this great event happen and to make the journey safe. Every year, this celebration gives us courage, strength to look with optimism to the future, inspires us confidence in the youth, in the inexhaustible creative powers of our people.
First of all all of you. To have an even better Carnival in 2025.

A little earlier, the President of KEDIP-Patras Carnival, Hera Kouri, gave her own message, pointing out: “For two months we went wild, had fun, celebrated the city’s great festival. Patras was filled with thousands of carnival-goers. We proved once again that the Patrino Carnival is the best in Greece. The soul of Patrinos Carnival is unrepeatable. A big thank you to the workers of the Carnival Organization, to the workers of the Carnival Workshop, to the workers of the Patreon Municipality of all services. A big thank you to the members of the Board of Directors. of the Carnival Organization, who were the soul of the Fatherland Carnival and to the Volunteers who gave their best in all the events”.
