Czech Republic’s Karolina Plishkova defeated Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the fourth round match of the US Open Tennis Championships. The meeting in New York ended with a score of 5: 7, 4: 6.
30-year-old Pavlyuchenkova is ranked 15th in the ranking of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Pavlyuchenkova’s previous victory in the championship allowed her to reach the 1/8 finals of the US Open for the first time since 2011. Plishkova, 29, is ranked fourth in the WTA rankings.
In the quarterfinals, Plishkova will win with the winner of the match between the Greek Maria Sakkari and the representative of Canada Bianca Andreescu.
