Sequel Announced for ‘PAW Patrol: The Movie’ with Release Date Set for 2026

Paramount Pictures, in collaboration with Nickelodeon Movies and Spin Master Entertainment, has confirmed that a sequel to ‘PAW Patrol: The Movie’ is in the works. The news comes just as the latest film, ‘PAW Patrol: A Mighty Movie’, hits theaters.

Director Cal Brunker, who helmed ‘A Mighty Movie’ and the 2021 feature ‘PAW Patrol: The Movie’, will return to direct the third installment in the franchise. Paramount will handle distribution worldwide, while Elevation Pictures will distribute the film in Canada.

‘PAW Patrol’ has been captivating audiences for the past decade, starting as a TV show and later transitioning into successful films. The 2021 adaptation performed exceptionally well at the box office, grossing $40 million domestically and over $144 million worldwide, despite being released simultaneously on Paramount+ during the pandemic. The sequel features a talented voice cast, including Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Bell, Christian Convery, Brice Gonzalez, Mckenna Grace, and Lil Rel Howery.

Jennifer Dodge, president of Spin Master Entertainment, expressed her excitement about the franchise’s success, stating, “Paw Patrol has entertained generations of preschoolers while subtly teaching them the value of community, inclusiveness, and teamwork. On the cusp of the premiere of our second, super-powered film, the universal love for our pups is stronger than ever.”

Dodge will produce the sequel alongside Spin Master’s Laura Clunie and Toni Stevens. Spin Master’s co-founder, Ronnen Harary, will serve as executive producer.

‘PAW Patrol’ is just one of Paramount’s many successful animation franchises. The studio is known for its work on animated features such as ‘Transformers’, ‘Smurfs’, and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’.
