DECRYPTION – As the number of cases starts to rise again, general practitioners and pharmacists can obtain support for prescribing antiviral treatment.

Two pink tablets and one white tablet, taken twice daily for five days, reduce the risk of hospitalization and death in the most vulnerable Covid patients by almost 90%. The effectiveness of Paxlovid, demonstrated in clinical trials, has been confirmed by several studies since its authorization in January 2022. But cet antiviral remains little used: during the last wave, last winter, it was delivered to fewer than 55,000 patients.
