jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Central Board of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI) will hold a National Conference on August 9.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo appreciated the steps taken by the badminton sports association following the less than optimal results at the 2024 Olympics.
So far, the Indonesian badminton gold tradition at the Olympics has failed to be maintained by PBSI. Only one medal, a bronze, was obtained through the women’s singles sector, Gregoria Mariska. The other sectors failed miserably.
Seeing this achievement, PBSI General Chairman Agung Firman has indeed expressed his apology.
Along with the results in the Olympics and the upcoming National Conference, of course an evaluation must be done. Therefore, Menpora Dito hopes that the National Conference moment will be utilized properly.
“I appreciate PBSI for immediately taking steps to hold the August 9th National Conference,” said Dito.
Previously, General Chair Agung Firman realized that the results achieved by the Indonesian Badminton Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics did not meet public expectations.
“A large-scale evaluation will be carried out during the PBSI National Conference which will be held in the near future,” he said.
