Thiruvananthapuram: NCP state president PC Chacko said that KV Thomas will campaign for the LDF in the Thrikkakara by-election. The UDF is not ready for a political contest. With the addition of Thomas Mash, it is certain that the LDF will win the elections. PC Chacko wrote on Facebook that Suswa was past Thomas Mash, who entered the heart of the Left and into the politics of Nehru.
However, KV Thomas had earlier said that no final decision has been taken regarding the Thrikkakara campaign. KV Thomas had said in the morning that even though he was still a Congressman, it was time to open up about his vision for development. He has a personal relationship with Uma Thomas, a UDF candidate and wife of the late PT Thomas. But personal relations and politics are two. Uma has been told to go to Thomas’ house. However, he did not campaign in the name of personal affiliation. KV Thomas added that his support for the LDF was a media creation and that he was still a Congressman.
In Thrikkakara, KV Thomas had come out against the decision to field Uma Thomas as the UDF candidate. KV Thomas demanded that the leadership clarify how Uma was nominated as a candidate. KV Thomas questioned whether the senior leaders of the district had been consulted before announcing the candidate and alleged that no consultation had taken place in deciding the candidate.
Uma Thomas says that all the inconveniences within the party have been resolved. She told Asianet News that her inner PT was in the campaign trail. Uma Thomas started her election campaign today by urging people to vote in the Kadavanthra constituency. She said voters were showing her love for PT, not sympathy, and that the problems within the party were addressed as if they were a family affair.
