While The Last of Us series is enjoying immense success, The Last of Us Part I, a remake of the first episode of the license, has postponed its PC release by three weeks.

[Mis à jour le 3 février 2023 à 17h32] The Last of Us has been on the small screen since the release of the first episode of the HBO series in mid-January. A novelty that had the gift of making the epic created by Naughty Dog known to the whole world. However, the first game in the history of the franchise has been completely redesigned in an excellent remake, first published on PS5. Originally scheduled for March 3 on PC, it was unfortunately pushed back three weeks.

Originally announced for March 3, 2023 on PC, The Last of Us part I has been pushed back to 28 mars 2023. A three-week postponement which will give the Naughty Dog teams a little more time to adapt this console exclusive to the PC format. If you want to take the leap and jump into The Last of Us, The Last of Part I Remake is probably the best option for you. This release straight from Naughty Dog studios in 2022 is available on PS5 and next March on PC, and you will also find it on Steam. But be careful, remember that the base price of this game is €59.99, even on Playstation 5, and any offer at a higher price would be illegitimate.

The Last of Us part I has been available for pre-order on Steam for a few weeks. The game is scheduled for March 3, 2023 on the platform. You will find it there for the modest price of €59.99. On the other hand, it will be necessary to arm yourself with a fairly solid configuration to enjoy it in the best conditions, although Steam has not yet defined the minimum and recommended configurations to play it.

If you wanted to dive into the complete The Last Us duology, The Last of Us 2 is € 19.99 at Amazon, and currently at the top of PS4 / PS5 game sales. The game is compatible with both console generations, but it can’t be found on PC yet.

You can also immerse yourself in the remastered original first installment, which is much more affordable than The Last of Us part 1.

With a note that reaches without flinching the 88/100 on Metacritic (for 64 tests), as much to tell you that The Last of Us Part 1 is high on the list of the best games of the year. The new recreation of Naughty Dog seems to be largely convincing, in France as well as across the Atlantic, thanks to its impeccable technique which sublimates an already grandiose original material. This is the opinion of our colleagues from GameBlogwho attribute to him without flinching 10/10 : No matter how one places oneself in the debate, The Last of Us Part 1 is a real punch. Exceptional technical performance, remarkable overhaul of old-fashioned and even wobbly gameplay, sublimated atmosphere, even more poignant cutscenes and more realistic environments than ever, this remake offers us a game that is more striking and visceral than ever.”

On the side of From Gamekultquestions about the relevance and the price of such a remake remain, but are counterbalanced by the accuracy of the game. And add to that the fact that The Last of Us first of the name remains on another planet compared to its successor, you will get a score of 8/10 : “No, this remake was not essential. No, it doesn’t deserve an investment of €80, especially not from someone who already knows the game by heart. Nevertheless, it is a remake which, within the limits of what it claims to be, knows perfectly well what it can bring that is significant to its own experience, and does so with remarkable skill.

As for our English-speaking colleagues, the wonder remains the same, IGNwe offer him 9/10 : “A beautifully mastered remake of one of the mainstays of the Playstation pantheon, The Last of Us Part I is the best way to play or replay Naughty Dog’s classic survival game. The striking enhancements it offers to its completely rebuilt world are complemented by the subtle refinement of its actors’ performances, and while it’s equipped with the positive enhancements brought by its sequel (The Last of Us 2), the movement enhancements and AI make a welcome difference to an already amazing game.
