On Pakistani soil, Bangladesh won the first Test against Pakistan. Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 10 wickets in the Rawalpindi Test on Sunday afternoon. After such a historic victory, the Bangladesh national cricket team is floating in praise.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Mohsin Naqvi did not hesitate to congratulate Bangladesh. On social media X, he congratulated Bangladesh and wrote, ‘Bangladesh cricket team has played amazingly. They played with influence throughout the match. This is their historic victory. This is the first time they have won against Pakistan. Hearty congratulations to them.’
He also wrote, ‘Unfortunately the Pakistan team did not perform as expected. Inshallah the green jersey holders will turn around in the next match.’
In the Rawalpindi Test, Pakistan batted first and declared the innings with 448 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, Mushfiqur Rahim’s 191, Sadman Islam’s 91, Mehdi Hasan Miraj’s 77, Liton Das’s 56 and Muminul Haque’s 50-run innings made Bangladesh score 565 runs in 167.3 overs losing all wickets.
Pakistan then went into bat in their second innings and were bowled out for just 146 runs in 55.5 overs by Mehdi Hasan Miraj and Shakib Al Hasan. The target of victory in front of Bangladesh is only 30 runs. Bangladesh removed it without losing a wicket in 6.3 overs. And confirmed a big win by 10 wickets.
