PCB signs MoU between Higher Education Commission and CDA to build cricket and infrastructure

(24 News)On the instructions of Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi, cricket tournaments and leagues will be conducted at the level of schools, colleges and universities (boys and girls) to promote cricket and improve infrastructure in educational institutions across Pakistan. An agreement was signed between Inter Boards Coordination Commission, Higher Education Commission and CDA.

According to the statement issued here on Sunday, Chairman PCB and Federal Minister of Education were the chief guests of the ceremony, a special ceremony of signing the memorandum of understanding was held at CDA headquarters, Director Domestic PCB Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Inter Boards Coordination Commission. Director Sports Muhammad Usman Khan and Director Sports Javed Ali Memon of Higher Education Commission signed the memorandum of understanding.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the signing of the MoU and said that for the first time in history a serious effort has been made to promote cricket at the grassroots level by organizing inter-school, inter-collegiate and inter-university tournaments. Talent will come out from all the institutions, if all the organizations conduct joint tournaments, then the best results will be achieved. It is hoped that the implementation of these agreements will strengthen cricket at the grass root level.

PCB will select the best players for cricket scholarships to be admitted to higher education institutions based on sports. IBCC will work with all education boards to ensure maximum participation in schools and colleges. Tournaments will start at district level, then divisional, provincial, and finally at national level, PCB will provide official umpires, scorers and other necessary staff to ensure the organization of tournaments. PCB will be responsible for releasing the tournament schedule and ensuring timely dissemination of this information to all participating institutions, PCB will ensure training of the best players of the winning teams from each district in high performance centers. PCB will give opportunity to top performers from schools, colleges to participate in PCB U-17 and U-19 teams.

PCB will organize special coaching courses for physical training education teachers, PCB coaches will visit schools and impart training to boys and girls during in-school camps.
