The Investigative Police (PDI) seized the cell phone of former undersecretary Manuel Monsalve, within the framework of the rape investigation against him.to which was added the decision of the Supreme Court of the PS to suspend its militancy.
The civil police reportedly carried out the seizure days ago, in addition to requisitioning the security cameras of the hotel where Monsalve resides in the capital and carry out errands in the restaurant that he visited with the complainant.
According to T13, the PDI’s work was carried out in extreme secrecy, while The North Central Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office has already interviewed about 10 witnesses for the complaint against Monsalve, including the victim.
The events would have occurred on September 22, when the former undersecretary and the complainant went to a restaurant, where they would have “drank profusely” to wake up the next day in a hotel and with signs of suffering a sexual assault.
Given this situation, Prosecutor Xavier Armendáriz specified that “this investigation is ongoing, with procedures that have already been completed and others in progress. That investigation exists and is in my charge.”
For her part, the president of the Socialist Party, Senator Paulina Vodanovic, announced on DNA radio that The Supreme Court of the community suspended Manuel Monsalve’s militancy while the investigation by the Public Ministry is underway.
This complaint caused Monsalve to resign from the Undersecretary of the Interior, being replaced in the position by Luis Cordero, who until now was Minister of Justice.
