jpnn.comJAKARTA – Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Central Executive Board Puan Maharani said that her party is also considering the name of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep, who is also the son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), in the 2024 Central Java (Jateng) Pilkada.

“Yes, of course, (Kaesang) is also a consideration,” said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/7).

He also responded positively to the latest survey results from the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) which placed Kaesang in second place with the most support in the top of mind simulation regarding the prospective candidates for Governor of Central Java.

Puan even admitted that she did not question Kaesang’s name, which received higher support than the Head of the Central Java PDIP DPD, Bambang Wuryanto alias Bambang Pacul, in the survey.

“It’s okay, Kaesang is good,” he said.

Previously, Sunday (30/6), the latest LSI survey conducted on 21-26 June 2024 recorded a number of names in the top of mind simulation regarding the candidates for Governor of Central Java.

The results showed that the Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, was the most frequently mentioned name with 5.2 percent, then the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep with 2.5 percent, then the Gerindra Party cadre who is also Prabowo Subianto’s personal assistant, Sudaryono with 2.1 percent.

Next, PDI Perjuangan politician Bambang Wuryanto alias Bambang Pacul with 1.8 percent, Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto with 1.7 percent, and former Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Meimoen with 1.5 percent.

PDIP is also considering Kaesang Pangarep’s name to be nominated in the Central Java (Jateng) Pilkada.
