jpnn.comJAKARTA – PDI Perjuangan has signaled that it will prepare political opponents for candidate pairs who have received support from several parties in the 2024 East Java (Jatim) and North Sumatra (Sumut) regional elections.

PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto is confident that the regional elections in East Java and North Sumatra will not be marked by empty boxes.

Hasto said that PDI Perjuangan could nominate a pair independently in the North Sumatra Pilkada and in East Java is building an axis to be able to nominate candidates.

“The empty box will not happen for the provinces of East Java and North Sumatra,” he said in response to media crew at the PDI Perjuangan DPP office, Jakarta, Saturday (20/7).

It is known that PDI Perjuangan has not yet decided to support candidates in the 2024 North Sumatra and East Java regional elections.

Several parties on the other hand have made major political cooperation in the 2024 North Sumatra and East Java regional elections.

Golkar, Gerindra, PAN, PKB, Demokrat, NasDem, and PPP have expressed their support for Bobby Nasution in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

Gerindra, Golkar, Demokrat, PKS, PAN, PPP, and PSI on the other hand expressed their support for Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak in the 2024 East Java Regional Election.

PDI Perjuangan will not allow candidate pairs who have received support from several parties in the 2024 East Java and North Sumatra regional elections to run against an empty box.
