PE ratio on DSE increased by 1.66 percent

The overall price earnings ratio (PE ratio) of the country’s main stock exchange Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased during the outgoing week (August 11 to 15). DSE’s PE ratio increased by 1.66 percent during the period under review.

This information was revealed on the basis of DSE’s weekly market review on Saturday (August 17).

According to the data, the PE ratio of DSE was at 11.42 points at the beginning of the outgoing week. And at the end of the week it stands at 11.61 points. As a result, DSE’s PE ratio increased by 0.19 points or 1.66 percent during the week.

At the beginning of the previous week (August 5 to 8), DSE’s PE ratio stood at 10.06 points. And at the end of the week it stands at 11.42 points. As a result, DSE’s PE ratio increased by 1.36 points or 13.52 percent during the week.

Sector-wise PE ratios are 6.34 points in banking sector, 9.06 points in energy and power sector, 12.68 points in jute sector, 13.19 points in pharmaceutical and chemical sector, 14.02 points in telecommunication sector, 14.36 points in cement sector, 14.54 points in travel and leisure sector, 14.66 points in general insurance sector, 15.19 points in textile sector, 15.65 points in engineering sector, 16.94 points in services and accommodation sector, 17.36 points in food and accessories sector, financial sector at 18.99 points, tannery sector at 19.52 points, IT sector at 19.88 points, paper and printing sector at 20.49 points, mutual fund sector at 25.33 points, miscellaneous sector at 28.33 points and ceramics sector at 126.76 points is located
