Filming has begun on the upcoming movie “Peaky Blinders”, and to celebrate, Netflix has released two images.

In the first we see Cillian Murphy in his iconic role as Tommy Shelby with prominent white hair – suggesting that a lot of time has passed since we last saw him. In the second place, the actress and Steven Knight are both sitting and relaxing behind the cameras. Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan and Tim Roth have not been introduced anywhere.

The story is still unknown, although we do know that it will be directed by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, Wild Rose) and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Eastern Promises). Knight and Murphy will produce with Caryn Mandabach and Guy Heeley, while Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren and David Mason will executive produce.

“Peaky Blinders” began as a series that followed the Shelby family and their criminal activities after the First World War. The main cast included Murphy, Finn Cole, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy and Stephen Graham, among others. The executive producers are Murphy, Steven Knight, David Mason, Caryn Mandabach, Greg Brenman, Jamie Glazebrook and Frith Tiplady, Tommy Bulfin and Lucy Bedford. It won a BAFTA for best drama series and was originally planned to run for a total of seven seasons, but was canceled due to the coronavirus. The sixth and final series of episodes aired on the BBC in February 2022 and was watched by 3.8 million people, making the best premiere of the series.
