In an interview with RPPexplained that he heard the former president’s speech at the time he was going to the Government Palace to hold a meeting with Castillo and the former head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Betssy Chávez.

“The first thing that came to mind was that it was a repetition of the message that President Castillo had delivered the night before, but then when I listened to him I realized what it was about,” he said.

Raul Noblecilla He explained that last Tuesday he had been at the Executive headquarters for several hours “talking” about the “political, democratic and legal defense” that the former head of state was going to launch “at 3 in the afternoon of the following day”, date on which the plenary session of Congress was going to debate the presidential vacancy motion.

“Undoubtedly something has happened, some situation has had to have such a serious weight in the president’s emotion, that it forces him to give the message to the nation. It is difficult, I am not here to judge the president, ”he added.

Does not rule out early elections

The new president Dina Boluarte has not ruled out calling new general elections in search of solving the political crisis that the country has been experiencing for years.

“If society and the situation warrant it, we will advance elections in conversations with the democratic forces of Congress,” he said. “I call on the sisters and brothers who are coming out in protest to ask them to calm down,” he asked.
