Pedro Cruz dedicated 32 years of his life to a passion that began at the age of 11 when he decided he wanted to be a journalist. At the age of 21 he started working on local radio stations, he was a journalist for TSF, SIC and Diário de Notícias. He especially liked politics and international affairs, having been present in various situations of conflict and international tension, namely Kosovo, Syria, Albania, Haiti, Lebanon or Ukraine.
He joined SIC in 1998, where he coordinated the SIC newsroom in Porto for 14 years and was deputy director of Information for the channel. At the beginning of 2021 he left to join TSF, part of the Global Media group. He recently took on the role of commentator for CNN Portugal
Pedro Cruz graduated from the Porto Superior School of Journalism and also taught Radio and Television at the Catholic University.
He died this Sunday, aged 53, at CUF Tejo Hospital, a victim of lung cancer.
