New Fantastic Fourfrom Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to premiere on July 25, 2025. The director is Matt Shakman (WandaVision, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Game of Thrones).

The screenplay is written by newcomers Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer (forthcoming Disaster Wedding).

In 1994, the film was to The Fantastic Four premiere. But it never came out.

In 2005 and 2007 we got Fantastic Four and the sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer with Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd as the Fantastic Four. (With Kerry Washington as blind Alicia Masters.)

The films received poor reviews, but both grossed over $300 million at the box office.

In 2015 came the newest version alias FANT4STIC with Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell. The film was butchered and flopped in theaters with only $167 million.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe and its boss Kevin Feige also need a boost. Their Phase Five opened with a historic low, while the next out has the least liked MCU movie trailer ever.

The MCU is film history’s biggest success ever, but they have therefore begun to struggle commercially and critically.

It is questionable whether they will ever be able to return to their glory days around 2018-2019.
