The president of the government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, affirmed that the conservative Popular Party (PP) and Vox, of the extreme right, are “involutionists” and were “defeated” in the general elections this Sunday.
Sánchez was smiling when the official vote count for the elections had exceeded 90% of the tables and showed that his Socialist Party (PSOE) was second, below the PP, but the latter could not reach an absolute majority to form a government not even with eventual alliances.
“Those who raised machismo, the setback in rights and freedoms have failed, the involutionist bloc of the PP with Vox has been defeated, there are more of us who want Spain to advance”said Sánchez from a platform in front of the PSOE headquarters in Madrid.
“Thank you from the heart,” said Sánchez in front of his followers who chanted “President, president” and “They will not pass.”
The president also highlighted the growth in votes that his space received compared to 2019.
“We have had more votes and more seats than four years ago”, he said in reference to the two seats that the PSOE added today, according to the Madrid newspaper El País.
Spain has been crystal clear and resoundingly clear.
The involutionist, backward block, which proposed the repeal of the progress made in these four years, has failed.

In turn, he celebrated the result of his allies with whom he could form a progressive bloc to renew his mandate.
Sánchez raised his call to the polls, which is initially scheduled for December, but decided to bring it forward after the PP surpassed him in the subnational elections on May 28.
“A few weeks ago I called early elections because I believed that we had a society that decided which course to take: either a forward or backward course,” he claimed.
“Spain has been clear, the involutionist bloc that proposed a total repeal of all the progress we have made in these four years has failed,” he assessed.
congratulations from alberto
President Alberto Fernández congratulated this Sunday the head of the Government of Spain, the socialist Pedro Sánchez, for having carried out a “extraordinary election” ein that country and stressed that Spanish citizens with their vote “revalued the rule of law.”
“Congratulations dear friend Pedro Sánchez Castejón for the extraordinary choice you made,” Fernández greeted on his Twitter account.
He added that “Millions of Spaniards revalued the rule of law and have preserved it from those who use democracy to later deny it in the Government”.

“I send you a big hug from a distance,” the Argentine president concluded when the results of the general election were known, where the conservative and opposition Popular Party (PP) won but far from the absolute majority of the Congress of Deputies, for which reason it remained in relative parity with the ruling Socialist Party (PSOE) headed by Sánchez.
