Pegula is the Mexico Open tennis champion

Guadalajara: American Jessica Pegula won the women’s singles title at the Mexico Open tennis series. Pegula (28 years old, 5th rank) who faced Greece’s Maria Zachary (27 years old, 6th rank) in the final, accumulated points and won 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets and kissed the trophy. The match ended in 1 hour and 10 minutes. This is Pegula’s 2nd WTA title in a 13-year tennis career. With this victory, Pegula moved up 2 places in the world rankings and finished 3rd for the first time. Zachary, who was at the 6th position, has moved up one place to reach the 5th position.
