Three-time world football champion Pele was discharged after treatment for a tumor in his colon, a hospital in São Paulo told Reuters. The 81-year-old Brazilian is in stable condition.
In early September, Pele underwent surgery to remove a tumor in his colon. In early October, he was discharged from the hospital, but was hospitalized again three months later.
Pele is the only three-time world champion in football. He has scored 77 goals for the Brazil national team. The International Football Federation recognized him as the best footballer of the 20th century.
