Pele will leave the intensive care unit in one to two days

The three-time world champion in football, Brazilian Pele, feels well after the operation and after a while will be able to return home from the hospital. The athlete will be able to leave the intensive care unit in one or two days. This was announced on her Instagram account by the daughter of ex-footballer Keli Nascimenta.

“He feels good after the operation, he is not in pain and is in a good mood (annoyed that he can only eat jelly, but he will overcome!). In a day or two he will be transferred to a regular ward, and then he will go home, ”she wrote.

Pele, 80, was admitted to a private clinic in São Paulo for routine check-ups about two weeks ago. On September 6, he underwent surgery to remove a tumor in his colon. The Brazilian had a tumor found during the examination removed.

Pele is the only three-time world champion in football (1958, 1962 and 1970). In the Brazilian national team, he played 92 matches and scored 77 goals. In total, during his career, he scored 1279 goals, for which he was included in the Guinness Book of Records. He played for the Brazilian “Santos” and the American “New York Cosmos”.
