Pele, one of the greatest footballers in history and certainly in Brazil, passed away today (Thursday) with difficult news that brought great sadness to the world and the world of sports in particular. The late legend of the past recorded a glorious career both in terms of the team and of course in the uniform of the Selção national team.

So apart from the three World Cup wins with the Brazilian national team, a record that no one was able to break, in the meantime anyway, the Brazilian who passed away also devoured titles in the local arena and in the team where he spent most of his career – Santos. Pele played in the team’s uniform from 1956 until 1974, when he went on to the New York Cosmos, with whom he won the North American League championship.

With Santos, Pele lifted two Libertadores Cups and won no less than 10 times in the Paulista League, which is the top league in Sao Paulo. Apart from that, the Brazilian celebrated twice with the Intercontinental Cup and once more with the Intercontinental Champions Super Cup. Apart from that, he finished with his team as the winner in many tournaments from the Tassa tournament to Rio-Sao Paulo.

Pele also finished 11 times as top scorer in the Paulista League, once as top scorer in the Libertadores and 1970 World Cup MVP, and even earlier MVP of the 1958 World Cup. All these are titles he achieved on the grass, except for the footballer of the century he received from FIFA and various other honorary titles over the years.
