Gustavo Penadés insists on his absolute innocence.

The defenses of the complainants in the case against the former nationalist senator, Gustavo Penadés, confirmed that this Tuesday the list of questions for said victims was closed. The defender, Soledad Suárez, stressed that the identity of the victims must be kept confidential, since it has been confirmed by the Court of Appeals. “They are the only data that are not there and it is not appropriate that they are, because a court of second instance has already resolved,” she assured.

“All the subjects who acted had the guarantees to first access the relevant information to be able to formulate points or topics, that was debated,” added Suárez.

“We have the guarantee that we know that they accessed the tax file. We are very sure that everyone had access to the tax file and that the only thing that was not there was what related to personal data. Very little, the rest of the information is there”, remarked the lawyer Juan Raúl Williman.

The defense of the complainants insisted that the questions not expose their privacy, as well as their integrity. “You have to take care that situations that generate fear do not arise,” said Suárez while Williman explained that “the mere passage through the justice system is re-victimizing.”

One of the concepts that generated discrepancies was when Mauvezín’s lawyer, Juan Carlos Fernández Lecchini, asked to question the victims about their “conduct.” “It is full of prostitution everywhere but the prosecution does not want to see it,” said the lawyer.

Penadés has insisted since Romina Celeste Papasso Oliver’s first complaint that she is innocent, and strongly denies all the charges. The same is done by Sebastián Mauvezín, who is indicated as an alleged “facilitator” of contacts between minors and Penadés.
