Penalties of 6 months to 1 year in prison and compensation of 64 million euros to the Public Treasury for 14 convicted of fraud in the sale of CO2 rights

The Criminal Chamber of the National Court has sentenced fourteen people to between six months and one year in prison and fines of up to 22 million euros who, through CO2 rights marketing operations, defrauded the Public Treasury, which they must compensate with more than 64 million euros. In a sentence, the magistrates of the Third Section condemned the defendants for the continued crime of falsifying a commercial document in medial bankruptcy with a crime against the Public Treasury and applied the highly qualified mitigation of undue delay.
