The young American artist Penélope Robin, daughter of a Cuban father and Venezuelan mother, surprises with her own sound, which is a mix of rap, reggaeton, pop and the unmistakable Cuban flow.
That sound, which concisely combines his varied musical influences, Latin heritage and vibrant personality, is reflected in the three latest musical works that he released in 2023.
The songs in English, Animal, ILYB I Love You Boy and his latest release: “I Love You Boy”, have more than 1.5 million views on his YouTube channel. In total, in the last five years, Penelope Robin has certified more than 8.6 million visits.
Sounding melancholic rock with folk elements and a pop feel, “I Love You Boy” shows a vulnerable side of Penelope Robin, and artistically complements her previous songs “Taking Back Sunday” and “Animal.”
“I was born in Miami, I am anything but gringa. My father is Cuban, my mother is Venezuelan and my entire family is Italian, Spanish. My whole family said that I was going to be a gringa, but I’m not very Latin,” said the emerging singer-songwriter in an interview with Notistarz.
