The ‘People of Solidarity’ carries out the official invitation to the festivities in honor of its Patron San Francisco del Monte del Cedral, in the ‘Penipe’ Convention Center auditorium, at 4:00 p.m. Penipe celebrates the 460 years of its Castilian foundation
Voices. Fabián Aldaz, mayor of the canton, issued the invitation to the festivities that the canton celebrates to commemorate 460 years of Castilian founding with the programming of different social, cultural, sports, gastronomic events, among others, in honor of the Patron Saint Francis of Assisi.

Aldaz highlighted the commitment and work of devotees and parishioners to develop these activities, which will be an opportunity for visitors to arrive to the canton and marvel at the natural and cultural charm of the place. Thus, he expressed that each neighborhood is organized to do the Novena, walks, among other activities that motivate the participation and arrival of Penipeños and visitors, in addition to the participation of various renowned orchestras.
Events. For his part, Carlos Valverde, president of the Festivities Committee, announced the multiple events that will be held soon: on Friday, September 22, the first Novena ‘San Francisco’ will begin, in the Mother Church starting at 7:00 p.m. ; Friday, September 29: general minga through the streets of the canton at 9:00 a.m.; Saturday, September 30: walk with San Francisco, which will begin in Puela until reaching the cantonal capital; Likewise, a Thanksgiving Mass will be held in the central Church; and, Sunday October 1st: Tortilla Festival and Entrepreneurship Fair at the Convention Center, from 9:00 a.m.
Details. Starting in the month of October, several activities will be carried out, such as: novenas, town bands, processions, entry of chamizas, serenades, popular games and popular dances organized by the neighborhoods.
Important. On Monday, October 2, one of its central activities is the great bullfight in the monumental square ‘Cristo Rey’, at 2:00 p.m.; October 6 and 7: the great popular festival starting at 8:30 p.m. in the same neighborhood; Friday, October 20: great proclamation of festivities through the main streets of the canton, among other planned activities.
