Pension reform: grueling, poorly paid… what is the reality of the garbage collector’s job, at the heart of the dispute?

by time news

2003, 2010, 2020 and now 2022: garbage collectors are on all strikes to oppose a pension reform that would endanger their special system. Public sector employees can now stop working at the age of 57, five years before the rest of the French. With the reform, which the government passed by means of 49.3, their special regime will be abolished and they will therefore have to wait until they are 59 years old. Garbage collectors in the private sector, meanwhile, were already retiring at age 62, and will therefore be required to work until age 64.
