Pension reform: in the Assembly, the Insoumis want to be “the masters of time”

by time news

This is the expression of the day, and it has nothing to do with the program “Fort Boyard”. Invited on RTL this Thursday morning, the president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, Mathilde Panot, explained that she wanted the deputies of her group – and of Nupes, more broadly – to be “the masters of time” at the within the Hemicycle.

“It is out of the question that we comply with the framework of the government, which wants to swallow (the text of the pension reform) in nine days, ”continued the elected representative of Val-de-Marne. As to whether the group was planning to delete some of the 13,000 amendments tabled, the member did not rule it out completely. “Maybe,” she replied, once again highlighting the desire to control the tempo of the debates.

The obstruction “comes from the government”

The left takes “very seriously”, the ongoing discussions on the reform, said Mathilde Panot still on RTL, sweeping away the accusations of obstruction linked to the particularly high number of amendments. “The only ones who are obstructing is the government,” replied the MP, as the representatives of the group have already been doing for several days.

On the same subject, MEP LFI Manon Aubry also judged, for her part on Europe 1, that it was the government which “constrained the debate” with a “misuse of the Constitution”. The Renaissance group “makes the debates last when it is in the minority in the Hemicycle”, she also accused, even ensuring that he had refused that the discussions continue over the weekend. And to conclude, with the same twist as that used a few minutes earlier by Mathilde Panot: “We want to be the masters of time”. A wish that will be put to the test of the facts in the coming days.
