What does the future hold for pension reform? The question, which is at the heart of the legislative election campaign, will undoubtedly be on the agenda for Bernard Cazeneuve’s meeting with the Head of State this Monday. But there is in any case one point that no one wants to return to: it is the review of small pensions which follows the extension of the full retirement age to 64 years.
When the reform comes into effect, however, not all of the retirees affected have benefited from the proposed increase. The first phase of the increase, in October 2023, affecting around 600,000 retirees from the public system and 85,000 former agricultural workers, recalls the National Old Age Insurance Fund (CNAV) and the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA).
