The boss of the deputies of the group of independent Liot Bertrand Pancher affirms it to our newspaper: “Our group will file a bill to repeal the pension reform. On June 8, the date of our next parliamentary niche, we will restore power to Parliament and we will win”. Made up of former socialist deputies, UDI, Corsican and overseas elected officials, this small group of elected officials had already hit the headlines by defending a cross-party censure motion which failed with 9 votes on March 20. He is therefore preparing to talk about him again.

The Liot group is currently drafting a text which must appear in the group’s parliamentary niche – the day when a group has control of the Assembly’s agenda. Two options are being worked on: either a bill requiring the complete repeal of the reform. Either a text calling for the repeal of the famous article 7 of the amending social security financing bill, the one on the shift in the legal age to 64 (became in the final version article 10) and the summons of a social conference.

Towards a new transpartisan censure motion?

In any case, a bill would only need a simple majority to be approved. Whereas for a motion of censure, only the votes in favor of the text are counted, the latter having to obtain an absolute majority. The Liot bill therefore seems an easier hurdle to pass for the detractors of the executive’s flagship site. If passed, it would then have to be voted on in the Senate. Another pair of sleeves…

Once submitted to the Assembly (the deadline for submission is April 20 for this parliamentary niche), the text must be accepted by the services of the lower house. If so, it could appear in the first or second position of the niche, so as to be examined in priority. “In the event of obstruction by the government, then a motion of censure can be envisaged, suggests one in the entourage of Bertrand Pancher. Because it would be a new political fact”. Serious threat? Several voices on the left have expressed their wish to see a new transpartisan motion of censure carried by this group, classified as independent.

Socialist parliamentarians have already proposed a text to this effect after the partial validation of the Constitutional Council. Only their parliamentary niche has already passed. Too late to study it. They will be able to catch up… on June 8.
