Adviser to BNP Chairperson and former Chief Whip of National Assembly Zainul Abedin Farooq said to the Prime Minister, BNP wants to remove you and your party Awami League from power because the people do not want you to remain in power. Because people don’t want to buy 3 taka banana for 14 taka.
He said these things at a protest rally organized by the Freedom and Rights Movement in front of the National Press Club of the capital on Friday (May 3). The rally was organized to demand the unconditional release of Khaleda Zia, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and other BNP leaders.
Zainul Abedin Farooq said, BNP does not exist. BNP will not survive. BNP speaks falsely. BNP set fire to the bus. BNP violates human rights. Hence, BNP cannot exist. I have been hearing these words from the mouths of Awami League leaders for 16 years and still have to hear them.
He said that the Prime Minister’s press conference was held yesterday. The Prime Minister of a country where human rights and constitution are being plundered said in a press conference, who else should be the Prime Minister of this country besides me. But, I will say, we didn’t want to move you. Because, BNP is a party of a leader who has transformed Bangladesh from a bottomless basket into a basket. Therefore, such a leader’s party cannot conspire to come to power even in the dark.
Zainul Abedin Farooq accused Awami League of conspiracy and said, “If you didn’t do conspiracy, then why did you leave BNP in the election in 2014?” Why did you vote at night even after pledging with BNP in 2018? Why did you vote dummy on January 7, 2024? You will have to answer these words one day.
He said, the way you keep the leaders of the opposition in jail for no reason in this rise of the commodity, people think that fair elections are never possible by you. And the economy will not improve in any way during your tenure. So, people want you to go away. Proof of this – not even a few percent of votes were cast on January 7.
Zainul Abedin Farooq said, if you are in power, you can say big things. If in power can be arrested. If in power, Khaleda Zia can be kept in jail for no reason. But, when the people take to the streets, these words will not work. Then you have to leave the power. So I say, leave the power before you lose to the people. The caretaker government passed the law and left quietly.
Dr. freedom rights movement.
