People of decent work create meaning, well-being and a dignified future for all, and this is the great lesson of Labor Day and of international workers’ solidarity. May Day is the personification of an enlightened society that respects and encourages honest work and builds its development on this conscious moral foundation. President Rumen Radev wrote this on his Facebook profile.
“The history of this day is a chronicle of the struggle of generations for the rights of workers and to guarantee decent wages for work. Without social justice, every society is doomed to insecurity, division, contradictions and crises, which invalidate it and make it impossible to achieve great national goals,” he wrote.
In his words, restoring the sense of justice and guaranteeing the social security of citizens are the path our country must take in order to deal with the alarming demographic trends and the depopulation of entire regions.
“Bulgarians will have no doubts that our country is the place for their life and professional fulfillment, when working here guarantees adequate income, dignity, security and prospects to realize their talents. Happy May Day!”, adds the president.
