The house of the burned Member of Parliament
Residents of Hunupitiya area and the people of Gampaha district have started the reconstruction work of the house where MP Prasanna Ranaweera was staying in Hunupitiya this morning (29).
When his house was completely destroyed by fire, these people voluntarily started rebuilding the destroyed house.
With the participation of a large number of people from the area, the reconstruction work of the house was started with the blessings of the Mahasangha and a large number of people volunteered to provide financial and labor and necessities.
Reconstructing people
Attendees at the event said they were ready to set an example for the community and the country to turn the violent political culture upside down by building Prasanna Ranaweera’s house.
They also said that Prasanna Ranaweera was working closely with the people and that the house was being built with the support of the people.
Mahasanghas, divisional politicians and many others attended the event. It is noteworthy that the house of the Member of Parliament was also set on fire in connection with the violent incident that took place on the 9th.
