(24News) Crackdown against plastic bags continues, 24523 places were raided, 10919 kilos of plastic bags were seized during 25 days.
According to the details, according to the environment-friendly vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the crackdown against plastic bags is going on.
Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb says that during 25 days, 10919 kg plastic bags were seized while raids were conducted at 24523 places. 5 challans were submitted to the Environment Magistrate’s Court. During 24523 raids, 1002 kg plastic bags were picked up from shops in Lahore.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that operations continued on Sunday during which various breakfast and food hotels were checked.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that the prevention of illegal plastic bags will help in reducing smog and air pollution, everyone should play an active role against the use of plastic bags at the individual and collective level. Grateful for not making plastic bags, implementing laws and cooperating with the government.
Environment Protection Secretary Raja Jahangir has said that single-use plastic is destroying the environment and creating health problems, plastic bags less than 75 microns will not be used.
He said that he met the presidents of the markets and instructed them not to use shopping bags less than 75 microns in the markets.
