Raipur: Controversy has arisen in Chhattisgarh due to a statement by senior Congress leader Charan Das Mahant. Mahant has courted controversy by appealing to people to vote for party candidate Bhupesh Baghel by saying that voters need to elect a person who can raise their issues and break Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s head with a stick. Criticizing Mahant, BJP has said that the people of Chhattisgarh will teach a lesson to Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
At a public rally in Rajnandgaon district on Tuesday, Mahant had targeted Modi and appealed to the people to ensure the victory of Congress candidate and former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat. The rally was organized after Baghel filed his nomination papers at Rajnandgaon District Magistrate office.
Controversial statement given regarding Narendra Modi
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Mahant, in his address in Chhattisgarhi language, said that ensure the victory of Bhupesh Bhai with a huge majority, so that he can protect you and stand for you in the future. If there is a question of dignity of women, farmers or youth, then a protector is needed who can wield a good stick. If anyone can stand against Narendra Modi with a stick, it can be your MP Bhupesh Baghel. The rest of the people are simple. Devendra Yadav can also stand. Shivkumar Dahria cannot hold a stick. Laughingly he says he can abuse. We need a man holding a stick. We need a person who can break Narendra Modi’s head and send him to China by harassing him day and night.

This comment of Congress leader Mahanta created controversy and BJP leaders have hit back at him. Reacting to Mahant’s comment, BJP’s party in-charge of Chhattisgarh affairs Nitin Nabin termed the comment as indecent and said that he is Modi’s family and Congress leaders should hit him with sticks first.

Nabeen said in a statement that I am also Modi’s family and I want to tell the Congress leaders to hit me with sticks first. He warned Mahant that we have not said anything but now the people of Chhattisgarh will speak. The public will definitely respond to this entire statement and will slap the Congress party.
