The Libyan Voice of the People Party accused the European Union Mission to Libya of exporting the migration crisis from Europe to Libya, considering that the European Union’s attempt to impose its comprehensive approaches to addressing migration on Libya is a blatant interference in internal affairs.

In a statement obtained by “Ain Libya”, the party stated that it had followed with concern the statements of the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, regarding the visit of the European Union technical mission concerned with migration governance and border management to Libya.

The Voice of the People Party announced its strong rejection of all efforts made by the European Union to implement its immigration policies on Libyan soil, adding that statements indicating the promotion of alternatives to detention, improving the conditions of migrants and refugees, and enhancing support for humane border management are nothing more than an attempt to beautify the bitter reality experienced by migrants due to unjust European policies.

The party also considered Nicola Orlando an undesirable person in Libya, and called on the European Union to immediately replace him with a figure who respects Libya’s sovereignty and works to support its stability and resolve its crisis away from any foreign interference.

The statement called on the Libyan government to take a firm stance against the European Union’s attempts to impose its policies on the country, and to work to protect Libya’s sovereignty and the rights of its people.
