“We feel the university is one of the pillars that Argentina has. “Our university system is very massive and for us that is a source of pride and we are going to defend it against those who want to pay university fees or restrict their entry.”he stated at the opening of the event.
He specified that Argentina “It has more than 47 million inhabitants and we have 2.5 million students of which 81% go to public universities” and maintained that “We defend the autonomous, free, non-fee-based university present throughout the national territory because the students are our main concern”.
“We are here to continue discussing how to care for and improve the university, update it, make it fairer and generate short careers with job opportunities according to the productive needs of the country”he concluded.
The Ibero-American Education Meeting, which takes place on October 5 and 6, is a series of tables and panels in which specialists from Latin America and Spain address educational topics linked to: Hybrid Education, Artificial Intelligence (AI), new teaching profiles and the challenges of educational unionism.
They participated in the opening together with the head of the national educational portfolio: Niurka González Orbera from – SNTECD (Cuba); Fernando Rodal, executive member of CEA (Uruguay); José Manuel Fernandez, inter-union (Spain); Carlos Salinas, CUD (Bolivia); Paola Artiaga, vice president of FEDLaTCi, and Walter Merkis, president of CONTUA. In addition, the minister thanked the special presence of Manoel Porto from SINASEFE (Brazil); Margot Johana Capela Andreas, CEA executive member (Brazil), and Francisco Carretero, SNTE (Mexico).
