China, which has dominated the diving events since the start of the Worlds, achieved a double in the final of the women’s ten-meter springboard event on Wednesday in Fukuoka (Japan).
With a final score of 457.85 points after five jumps, Chen Yuxi was crowned world champion for the third time in a row. She won ahead of her compatriot Quan Hongchan (445.60 pts), Olympic champion in Tokyo two years ago.
The two young women, aged 17 and 16 respectively, collected the perfect score of 10 several times during the final. On her fourth pass, the silver medalist even performed a perfect jump with a 10 from each of the seven judges.
