In order to make the RTX 4090 comply with US regulations and continue to be sold in China, NVIDIA created an exclusive special version of the RTX 4090D for China, reducing some specifications, such as reducing the number of CUDA cores from the original 16384 to 14592, and the SM unit from 128 The number of groups has changed to 114, the number of Tensor cores has been reduced from 512 to 456, and the number of RT cores has been reduced from 128 to 114, so the performance must have deteriorated.

The first is the 3DMark test. Expreview has tested every mode. On average, the RTX 4090D is about 6.7% slower than the RTX 4090. The gap is not huge:

A total of 15 4K games were tested. First of all, when ray tracing was not enabled, it was not surprising that there was no pressure on the RTX 4090D. Each of them can provide a great gaming experience. Compared with RTX 4090, rasterized game performance is only 5.5% lower:

In the Stable Diffusion + TRT test, only 512×512 has a slightly larger gap, reaching 10%. In 768×768 and 1024×1024 resolutions, RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D are almost the same:

It is worth noting that the RTX 4090D can still be slightly overclocked in the 425W TGP setting. Expreview successfully raised the GPU core to 200MHz and passed the 3DMark Time Spy test:

So overall, the RTX 4090D is still a very good flagship graphics card, only slightly behind the RTX 4090 in all aspects of performance.

Now the price of RTX 4090 is too high. For gamers, the CP value of RTX 4090D will be much higher. Some people may not be happy that NVIDIA has set the pricing of this card to be the same as RTX 4090, but even in Taiwan or China In other countries, it is completely impossible to buy the RTX 4090 at the original price, and it requires a lot of price increase, so this is a fake issue for me, so there is no need to be unhappy.
